Hope Presbyterian Preschool

Hope Preschool is a ministry of Bethany Presbyterian Church which is located in western Belize. It was established in September 2005 as a vision of Rev. Rafael Ku who is a church planter and pastor of the church. Pastor Ku is a graduate of Reformed Bible College and also has an M.Div from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS.

The principal at the school is Mrs Ruth Sierra and the assistant teacher is Mrs. Sagri Ku. The school started with 15 children. For September 2007, the preschool will be adding an afternoon class. The morning class will have 15 children, age 4, and the afternoon class will have 15 children, age 3.

Early in 2007 the Ministry of Education started paying the principal's salary which came as a great blessing. The assistant teacher is paid from the monthly tuition fees. The monthly tuition is $20.00 Bze. The church does some fund raising in order to buy school materials and pay the water and electric bills.

The main purpose of the preschool is to share the love of Christ with the children and, consequently, with the parents. Secondly, it is reaching out to the community with the gospel. What a better way to start with the children. We are planting seeds in the hearts of these children with the hope that the community as a whole will experience a transformation through God's Spirit.

Bethany Presbyterian Church also has the vision to establish an elementary school in the near future. The preschool is, in a way, preparing us for the future.
